When preparing for the camp season it is natural for us to think back on previous summers and recall the zany skits, the friendships forged, the new skills acquired and memorable moments that we will cherish for a lifetime but there is something else that comes to mind…
The scores of kids that have not ever experienced camp for whatever reason. There is a strong case for camp to be a prominent fixture in youth development. As the American Camp Association (ACA) shares, at a minimum, camp boosts a child’s self esteem, develops twenty-first century life skills, is critical to a child’s education and , above all, is fun!
